Positive Notes is a project that was started by Dawnmarie Salmons, Music Clubhouse Director at the Edgerley Family South Boston Boys & Girls Club. The project aims to teach club members the importance of being an active member in their community through music projects that are hosted in South Boston. Students learn how music, the universal language, can be given to others as a gift to help make the world a better place.
This past Summer, 2017, we focused on using music as a way to build community and positive relationships between our members and first responders. We recorded our “Feel Good Mixtape: BPD Edition” a compilation of positive songs recorded in our state-of-the-art recording studio by our youth members and Boston Police Officers, including Chief Gross and Commissioner Evans!
All Instrumentals were recorded live by our club band, "The Harmaniacs"!
